Mind:

We know how important taking care of your mental health and wellness can be for yourself, but we asked Dr. Andrea Espinoza, how can prioritizing wellness affect someone else in your life? This is what she had to say:

Working out can be one of the most selfless things that you do.

Others in your life can find inspiration from you even when you think they are not paying attention.

Taking time away from “daily responsibilities” to work out is not selfishness. It is often an example to others that you value yourself and your own wellness. It enables you to be the best version of yourself for others.

Studies have shown (specifically in teenagers) that mood is contagious. This means that anything leading to increased levels of happiness and wellbeing (like participating in a social gathering or working out) can affect those around you by “infecting” them with that same element of joy and positive feeling!

I always encourage families to participate in fun outdoor activities together.
If someone asks you to go for coffee–get it to go and take a walk instead of sitting down. Pickle ball has become a popular sport for all ages. Grab a game and see if you can appreciate the laughter and positive contagious vibes with a friend. Sadly, we have outsourced our “life experiences” by watching others through technology.
Fun fact-“Dancing with the Stars” is in its 32nd season!! There is a transference of joy just WATCHING people dance and move. Imagine if you got up and asked someone you care about to dance?! Tell them it is a simple way to feel happy and burn calories. That is also what working out with someone does. POSITIVE ENDORPHIN release!

Motion creates emotion. It’s as simple as that!”

Here are some questions to ask yourself from the Self Help arthur — Mark Manson

“Three questions determine 99% of the happiness in your life:

1. What am I working on and why?

2. Who am I spending time with and why?

3. How well am I treating my body and why?

Everything else is noise.”
